Un Alma Sonriente Perdida Demasiado Pronto, A Smiling Soul Lost Too Soon

Jaime Luis Olivares Preciado, 60, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on February 27, 2021 due to COVID-19 complications. Jaime was born on December 10, 1960 in Lima, Peru. He was one of eight siblings of a big beautiful family. He is an alumni of Liceo Naval Teniente Clavero Class of 78'. He attended technical college afterward and worked in technical skills throughout his life. Jaime always lived his life to the fullest and befriended anyone he would meet. He was a light in the world. A face who was always smiling. A caring individual, a trusted friend, a loyal family man, and a practicing follower of Christ. He was a funny, friendly, loving, compassionate, and caring individual. He was the type of person to take his jacket off for a stranger and who focused his whole life on his family and his loved ones. He was a dedicated man of God and an active member of his parish Blessed Sacrament in Elizabeth, NJ. Although he didn't have children of his own he was a father figure to his nieces and nephews who are devastated by his loss. Jaime's hobbies included dancing, traveling, photography, sightseeing, and landscaping. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He is preceded in death by his father Jose, his mother Santos Maria, his older siblings, Natividad & Mercedes, and most recently his older brother Walter Olivares (Sabina) who also died of COVID-19 complications eleven months prior. He is survived by his wife and partner of 18 years Milissa Martinez, his brothers Jose Esteban (Rosa), Cesar Augusto (Carmen) and his sisters Elva Irma (Elio), Domitila Natividad (Yovany), his sister in law Sabina, His nieces whom he adored and helped raise as children in Peru Jeniffer (Victor) and Melissa (Steven) and his nieces and nephews whom he also loved so very much Alison (Kenny), Francesca, Guadalupe, Yosvany, Adriana, Matthew and Sarai and his great-grand nieces and nephews whom he loved as grandchildren Luna, Steven, Lucas, Camila, Emma, Bryanna, Raul, and Maria Paula . COVID-19 has left our family broken-hearted again. Thank you for all your love and comfort during this difficult time. God Bless you always.

POEM: I am Free

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call:

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way;

I found my place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joys.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,

Ah yes, these things I too shall miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow:

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I savoured much;

Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my life seemed all too brief:

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me;

God wanted me now, He set me free.

POEMA ESPANOL- Soy Libre

Mi vida ha sido llena, he saboreado mucho;

Buenos amigos, buenos momentos, el amor de seres queridos.

Quizás mi vida parecía demasiado breve:

No lo alargues ahora con dolor

Levanta tu corazón y comparte conmigo;

Dios me quería ahora, me liberó.

You can to the family or in memory of Jaime Olivares Preciado.
