Jacqueline "Jacque" Mauer, 66, of Waterloo peacefully passed away at home, Saturday, February 1, 2025, with her husband and family by her side, fulfilling her desire to spend her final days in the comfort of her own home, which she resided in for 49 years. She was born March 2, 1958 in Waterloo, daughter of Lawrence Richard and Ruth Joan (Regan) Takin.
Jacque married her high school sweetheart, Scot Mauer on October 15, 1976. Jacque worked at St. Edwards while her children attended school there. After that, she worked at Country Inn and Suites then retired to be a Grandma, which she loved more than anything. Jacque truly loved and adored her family unconditionally, especially her 6 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Scot Mauer of Waterloo, her son Jeremy (Jamie) Mauer of California along with their 3 daughters Lauren, Kendall and Hayden. Her son Rob Mauer and daughter in law Tara Mauer of Waterloo along with their 2 children Lake and Madison. Daughter Monica (David) Bardsley of Cedar Falls along with their son Bentley. Sisters Jane Takin, Sandra (Ron) McKay. Bothers Jeff (Jojo) Takin and Rick Takin. And many nieces and nephews.
Jacque is preceded in death by her parents and her father in law Orville Mauer.
A free spirit at heart, Jacque enjoyed spending summers at the Takin Cabin enjoying time outdoors. She grew up waterskiing and loved time spent on the water which led to her and Scot purchasing a boat to enjoy time together fishing along with camping trips spent with each other and their children and grandchildren.
Jacque enjoyed music and having a good time. If you offered her a Busch light or a shot of fireball, she would not turn it down.
It wasn't very often that you would not see Jacque with a smile on her face or laughing.
She was a wonderful cook and was always sure that no one went hungry. Taking care of children was something that brought her pleasure.
Her kind heart and contagious laugh will forever be missed.
We will honor Jacque's memory with a celebration of life on March 2, 2025 at the Cedar Falls Amvets from 1-4.
