Jacqueline “Jacquie” Simonds passed away peacefully. A beloved elementary school teacher, mother of three, and spirited community organizer, she spent her final days surrounded by family who sang songs, read funny stories, and held prayer sessions at her bedside. Several of her close friends also came to visit, sharing memories, laughter, and comfort.
For more than three decades Jacquie devoted herself to teaching young children with patience, warmth, and joyful curiosity. In every classroom she brought creativity, kindness, and an unwavering belief that each child could shine.
An avid skier and the energetic force behind countless ski and après-ski gatherings, Jacquie loved the mountains and the friendships the slopes created. She organized seasons of laughter, cozy evenings by the fire, and traditions that kept people coming back year after year.
Jacquie was the proud mother of Matthew and Gwendolyn, and she is remembered with deep love for her daughter Jennifer, who predeceased her one year ago after a courageous battle with cancer. Jacquie’s strength, compassion, and generosity were a steady comfort and inspiration to family and friends.
People will remember her bright spirit, her dedication to education, and the way she made every community event feel like family. Her legacy lives on in the students she taught, the friends she gathered, and the love she shared.
Details about services and ways to honor Jacquie’s memory will be shared by the family.
