J. G. Thomas1924-2016J.G. Thomas, age 92, died on December 8, 2016. He was born on November 28, 1924 in Anderson, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Thomas; daughter, Mary Beth Reidy and husband John; son, Scott Thomas and wife Heather; grandchildren, Kyle Reidy and wife Lauren, David Reidy, Austin, Avery, and Ashley Thomas. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a meteorologist while serving our country and enjoyed talking about his time spent in Khabarovsk, Russia. In 1949, he graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. After 33 years, he retired from Getty Oil Company. After his retirement, J.G. enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, attending the Bellaire Methodist Sunday School Seekers class, the Chancellors' exercise classes, and spending time with his loving family. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Bellaire United Methodist Church at 2:00pm, with a reception following the service.
