LUKINEC, IvanMay 12, 1930 - September 27, 2017Ivan Lukinec passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary, AB, at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, sister, and loving wife, Milena Lukinec. Ivan is survived by his nieces and nephews in Croatia. Ivan leaves behind the Martinovic family and friends in Calgary. Ivan was born on May 12, 1930, in Luzan (Varazdin), Croatia. At the age of 28, Ivan moved away from his home country to Italy and lived there for three years until he moved to France in 1961. Ivan started his career as a carpenter. He spent 15 years of his life in France where he fell in love and married his wife Milena. Ivan and Milena immigrated together to Canada in 1976. They spent most of their life together in Calgary, AB. Ivan loved to be gathered with friends and share his passion for making wine and sausages. Ivan's joy and positive view on life will be greatly missed. A Prayer Service will be held at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Catholic Church, 14680 Deer Ridge Drive SE, Calgary, AB, on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Catholic Church on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery, 3219 - 4 Street NW, Calgary, AB.
