Irene Routzahn Blank died, at the age of 93, on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard Blank and the mother of Jan Martinez, Howard Blank, Jr. (Cheryl) and the late Beverly Ward. Irene was born on October 29, 1923 to the late Maurice and Ethyle Routzahn. She was the sister of Edward Routzahn; grandmother of Dr. Jennifer Martinez, Courtney Gillespie, Carrie Berthelot, Peyton and Madeline Blank; great-grandmother of Rye and Adler Gillespie and Brayden and Logan Nelson.Irene was a teacher with the Orleans Parish School System. She was a native of Frederick, Maryland and a resident of New Orleans, LA for over 50 years.Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
