Idella Parker PetersenIdella Parker Petersen, 89, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 20 at the Marsing LDS Ward Chapel, 215 South Third Ave. West in Marsing. Friends may come and greet the family at the church from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300. Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.Idella was born on January 10, 1925 in Wellsville, Utah to Earl and Margaret Stauffer Parker. She attended school in the Cache Valley area where she met her husband, Boyd Petersen. They were married on April 17, 1944. Boyd and Idella moved from Utah to the Marsing area in 1947 and established the family farm where they lived until 2007. Idella was very involved with neighbors in the Lakeview community where they formed a support and outreach group for the needs of the community and the schools. The family was active in the Marsing Second Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Idella's greatest joy was entertaining family and friends in her home where all were welcomed by the smell of baking bread and delicious meals. She particularly enjoyed having her Utah family visit the farm.Idella was preceded in death by her husband Boyd; her son Paul and daughter Reneta. She is survived by her four sons and one daughter: Wayne (Jeanie), Carl (Beth), Kent (Brenda), Blair, and Nyla Petersen; 12 grandchildren: Douglas, Jayson, Katie, Nicole, Cari, Amanda, Amber, Brandon, Janae, Melissa, Bree and Kyle; 9 great-grandchildren: Sydney, Jakob, Matthew, Hayley, Christena, Hailey, Lily, Audrey and Jensen; a brother Boyd Parker of Tremonton, UT and a sister Pauline Jeppsen of Mantua, UT.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marsing Community Disaster Fund (PO Box 493, Marsing, ID 83639) would be appreciated.
