It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hyman Burton, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend. Hyman peacefully passed away on October 24, 2025, surrounded by his family, at the age of 70.
Born on April 26, 1955, in Natchitoches, Louisiana Hyman grew up with a passion for the outdoors and a deep love for his community. After graduating from high school, he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he earned commendations for his dedication and courage.
After his service, Hyman returned to Denver and began a long career in engineering, working for more than 20 years with Baxter & Co. Known for his meticulous work ethic, he played a key role in several landmark construction projects in the region. His colleagues often referred to him as “the man who could build anything.”
Outside of work, Hyman was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and camping with his family. He spent countless weekends in the on the river, passing on his love for nature to his children and grandchildren. He also volunteered regularly at his local church, where he served as a deacon and mentor to many younger members of the congregation.
Hyman is survived by his devoted wife of 10 years, Mary Burton; his two children, Ashley Sylve (Tim), Courtney Marshall (John); and stepdaughter Dinesha Paige (Cas) his four grandchildren, Harmonie, Kendall, Inari, and Kaziah; and his brother, John Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Angie Burton.
Hyman’s family invites you to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Street Church of Christ, Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Hyman will be remembered for his generosity, his dedication to family, and his unwavering faith. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
