Bartol, HubertHubert Lawrence Bartol, (Hugh Bartol), died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Hospice of the Valley in Tempe, Arizona. He was born on November 9, 1937 to Joseph Bartol and Wanda (Hibicki) Bartol in Appleton, Wisconsin. He went to St. Therese Elementary in Appleton and St. Mary's High School in Menasha and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. He enjoyed working for Pitometer from 1961-1974, and went on to retire from United States Public Service where he was a Sanitary Engineer and Facilities Manager. Hugh enjoyed all kinds of music, especially classical, and was an avid collector of records, tapes, CD's. He was a Canadian hockey and Green Bay Packers fan. But most of all he enjoyed raising four children with Martha (Woods) Bartol. He also loved good food, bassett hounds and road trips in his Dodge Dynasty. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathleen (Kathy) Garr, brother-in-law, Tom Navickas and niece, Sue Bartol. He is survived by his first wife, Martha Bartol and their four children: Laura Belarbi of St. Louis, and Eric Bartol, Sharon Hoard and Janice Curliss of Albuquerque. Also his brother, Tom (and Mary Ann) Bartol of Dayton, Ohio and their four children, and his sister, Joan Navickas of Appleton, Wisconsin and her three daughters. Hugh also has eight grandchildren who live in Albuquerque, Flagstaff, St. Louis and Algeria and four great-grandchildren who live in Illinois and Missouri. A private graveside service was held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Berlin, Wisconsin.
