Mr. Howard Junior Ham of Fleetwood died on Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Glenbridge Health & Rehab Center in Boone. He was 77.

Mr. Ham was born on April 1, 1937, in Ashe County to James Roy and Gertrude Ham.

Mr. Ham was preceded in death by his parents and son Junior Ham.

Mr. Ham was a member of Apple Grove Baptist Church. He worked for Thomasville Furniture for 34 years. Howard enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and woodworking.

Mr. Ham is survived by his wife, Zelda Ann Farmer Ham; son, Toby Ham and wife Tara of Fleetwood; daughter, Peggy Blevins of Newland; daughter in-law, Judy Ham; four sisters, Madeline Roop of Lansing, Kathleen Downer of Pennsylvania, Voilet Willdman of Tennessee, and Geraldine Zeglar of Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Kristy Ham and Kimber Ham; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Danny Miller and Rev. Julian Owen. Burial followed in Pennington Cemetery.

The family received friends on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel.
