Howard B. SainKnoxville, TNHoward B. Sain of Knoxville, TN, age 78, passed away peacefully at Tennova Hospital, North Knoxville, on Thursday, May 4th, 2017. Howard was born on October 23, 1938 in Viola, TN. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Cantrell) Sain; children Susan Sain Wagner of Pewaukee, WI, Sharon Sain (Brian) Yarbrough of Halls Cross Roads, TN and Tim (Tina) Sain of Jonesborough, TN; sister Marie (Sain) Moss of Birmingham, AL and brother William Sain of Panama City, FL; and 7 grandchildren, Christopher and Katherine Wagner, Hunter & Katelyn Yarbrough, Carolyn, Marybeth and Raygan Sain. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Oris and Clayton (Speck) Sain of Viola, TN; four brothers, Charles Sain, Joe Sain, James Sain, Bobby Sain and sister Marguerite Sain. Howard graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee and worked for TVA for over 30 years. He was instrumental in the development of Tellico Lake area and served on the Board of Directors for the TVA Credit Union. Howard was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Halls Cross Roads, a Freemason and a published author. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, family geology and was active in the John T. O'Connor Senior Center. Mynatt Funeral Home - Halls Chapel, 4131 East Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938 is serving the family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following.
