HILDA (GARCIA ESPINOZA) FISHER PORTAGE, IN Hilda (Garcia Espinoza) Fisher, age 64, of Portage, IN, formerly of Gary and East Chicago, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016. She was born on May 20, 1952 in Donna, TX to Jose T. and Maria (Hernandez) Garcia. Hilda is survived by her children: Christina (Anthony) Paz of Maricopa, AZ, Steven (Amanda) Espinoza of Tucson, AZ, Michael (Jennifer) Espinoza of Dayton, OH; her siblings, Lupe Galvan, Joe (Ofelia) Garcia, Nick (Maria) Garcia, Jaime (Rosalinda) Garcia, Janey (Robert) Matamoros, Ernie Garcia, Rosemary Verduzco; grandchildren: Izabella, Charlie, Eva, Lucy, Olivia, Xavier; in-laws, Mike (Sandy) Fisher, Dorothy (Eddie) Martyka, Vicky (Robert) Ficken; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria, and her husband, Roger L. Fisher. Hilda was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Known as the family organizer, she was very committed to her family and friends, always striving to maintain the unity and strength of the family that she was so proud of. She enjoyed helping people through volunteer work. Hilda was an avid pool player and bird watcher. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Deacon Joe Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
