She married John Edwards Able Sr. in 1960 and they lived together in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Together they raised 3 children John Edwards Able Jr. (Tekeshia Kelley-Able), Joseph Able (Christine Johnson-Able), Charles Jackson . She is also survived by 4 grandchildren (Antonio White, Shahesta Able, Ashley A. Jackson, and Johnathan J. Able)
