Herta passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2016 at the age of 87 to once again be with her husband, Rudy. Herta was born on September 24, 1929 in Hirschbach, Austria. At age 20 she married Rudy, the love of her life, and they were a team for 62 years. After farming in Austria, Herta immigrated to Canada in 1965 and became a realtor in Windsor, Ontario. Herta and Rudy went on to own and manage the Traveller's Inn Motel in Hanover for many years before retiring to Victoria. Herta enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, entertaining friends and family, travelling, golfing, spending time at Lake Cowichan and attending church.Herta will be greatly missed and always remembered. Predeceased by her brother Erwin, her father Ignaz, her mother Christine and her sister Ida. She is survived by her daughters, Rita, Chris, Aryn and Veronika and her 7 grandchildren, Leelan (Erin), Serena, Andrea, Tianna, Cory (Diedra), Brandon and Alyssa, and her great grandchildren Alex and Carson. Thanks to Dr. Tamboline, Father David Hogman and to her Berwick family.A Prayer Service and Reception will be held at First Memorial Chapel 4725 Falaise Drive, January 11th at 2pm.
