Mr. Henry Allen, (60), of Hopewell, VA, peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was on born on March 22, 1956, to the late Inez Allen and Thomas Allen, Sr.He received his early education through the Prince George County Public School System and was employed by Capstone Logistics (Food Lion Distribution) for over twenty years.Henry enjoyed spending time with his family and running the football pools.He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving son, Alonzo Hill of Hopewell, VA; one granddaughter, Shayilah Hill of Henrico, VA; a special friend, Maria Chamberlain of Hopewell, VA; seven sisters, devoted Shirley Allen-Richardson (Joe) of Sutherland, VA, Mildred Jones, Dorothy Allen, Eva Fields, (Alexander Jr), and Inez Thomas, all of Disputanta, VA, Carolina Thomas of Paterson, NJ, and Valanda Reese (Herman) of Petersburg, VA; three brothers, Thomas Allen, Jr. (Doris), Wilbert Lee Allen (Mary) and Charles Allen (Mary), all of Petersburg, VA; one uncle, Bobbie Pettaway (Sharon) of Hopewell, VA; a devoted niece, Sherika Allen of Chesterfield, VA; a devoted nephew, Leroy "Bug" Jones; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, among them devoted friends, Ruby Burgess, Harold "Toe" King, Cory Hamlin, Marcellus Williams and Angela Pearson.Services for Mr. Henry Allen will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, at Union Branch Baptist Church, 3356 Union Branch Road, Petersburg, VA.
