Henrietta "Retta" McNeil of New Orleans, LA passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX. She was 61. She was born on December 12, 1954 in New Orleans, LA. She attended the school for Ayanna Development Center for special needs students. She was a free spirited, helpful woman, who had a special love for children. She was the "Mother Hen" of the family. She will be greatly missed. Retta is survived by her daughters: Sherrigo McNeil Boudreaux and Lisa Nelson; son-in-law Curtis Boudreaux, three grandchildren; Saniah, Serenity, and Caleb, four sisters: Catherine Tramble, Carolyn McNeil, Debra McNeil, and Yolander Ndi; four brothers: Henry McNeil, Jr, Darel McNeil, Kevin McNeil, and Kenneth McNeil. Preceded in death by her father Henry W. McNeil, Sr., and mother Victoria B. McNeil. Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, November 5, 2016 for 1:30 P.M. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy, NOLA.
