Henrietta "Katie" Valdez (Chavez) was born January 6, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Manuel and Esperanza Valdez.

She passed away February 4, 2021 from complications of Covid. She was brave and put up a good fight for love of her family. Family was everything to Katie, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them.

While raising her children Katie held a proof reading position at Times Mirror Press for many years.

She enjoyed dining out, theater, champagne and strawberries, and parties. She was a feisty little lady and she spoke her mind!

On November 6, 1954, Katie married Jose "Joe" Francisco Chavez, they were married for 39 years.

She is survived by their children; Linda Ann Chavez, Jose Ramon Chavez, Diane Marie Billbe, John Richard Chavez, Denise Irene Fritz, and Laura Lynn Gonzales; grandchildren; Loretta Chavez, Edward Hernandez, Jr., Anthony Hernandez, Jose Chavez III, David Hernandez, Lisa Chavez, Brittany Thaler, Taylor Fritz, Andrea Land, John Chavez, Jr., and Elliott Fritz; and 13 great grandchildren.

Katie always used to say, "you're gonna miss me when I'm gone."

Well Katie, you couldn't have been more right!
