Helena Barber, 77, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2026.
Born on December 28th, 1948, Helena lived a life truly defined by love and kindness. She loved deeply and unconditionally, and her entire life revolved around her family. They were her greatest joy, her purpose, and the center of everything she did. Helena had a rare and beautiful gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her warmth and compassion touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Helena was a proud and dedicated business owner, running her own hair salon and secondhand store for many years. She had a special eye for hidden treasures and had a sense for finding deals. She also expressed her love through cooking and preparing delicious meals that honored her Lebanese heritage and brought family and friends together around her table.
More than anything, Helena cherished her family above all else. She poured her heart into creating a home filled with laughter, comfort, and unconditional love. Her presence was a constant source of strength, and the memories she created with her family will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her sons Rodney, Mike, and Rocco Pangallo; her grandchildren Rodney Lofton, Starlyn Pangallo, Chelsey Stewart, Cameron Pangallo, Valentino Pangallo, Demitrio Pangallo, Trinity Pangallo, Michael Pangallo, and Sabino Pangallo; and her great-grandchild Zylah Pangallo. She is also survived by her siblings Mike (Angela) Simon and Patsy Simon, and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Barber; her son, Joseph Pangallo; and her siblings Madeline Simon, George Simon, Johnny Simon, Tony Simon, and Mike Simon.
A celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
Helena will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her boundless love, her selfless devotion to her family, and the countless ways she made everyone around her feel cherished and loved. She leaves behind a family who will carry her love with them always.
