Helen M. SchmidtGettysburgHelen M. Schmidt, 66, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on Friday, June 23,1950 in Harrisburg the daughter of the late Harry Lutz and Thelma M. (Green) Nagy.Helen graduated from Steelton High School. She was employed by Ziegler Bros. in Gardners for 29 years. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran church in Heidlersburg.She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dennis R. Schmidt. She is also survived by two daughters, Heather Schmidt of Gettysburg, Julie Pulliam and husband. Greg Pulliam of Bealeton, Va.; son, Justin Schmidt and wife, Amanda Schmidt of Centennial, Colo.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and brother, Clarence Lutz of Seattle, Wash., along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.Helen was a youthful spirit whose smile could light up a room and laughter would warm your heart. She shared her love of the outdoors with all around her and found special interest in her flower beds, raising a few pet chickens, and playing with her two dogs. She found tranquility in the barn where her horse would take away the stresses of the day and bring her peace.
