Helen M. (Pat) Zimmerman95, of Englewood, Florida, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 in Venice, Florida.  Pat was born on May 27, 1921 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John R. and Meta F. Patlow. Pat earned her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from the University of Wisconsin. Following WWII, Pat attended graduate school at Purdue University where she earned a Master's Degree in Home Economics and where she met and married the love of her life Bob Zimmerman on June 12, 1948. Bob preceded her in death in 1995.Pat was an enthusiastic gardener having earned the designation of "Master Gardner" in which she was active throughout her life. Additionally, she was active for many years among Indianapolis' various Home-Economic organizations where she was well known for her knowledge and outgoing personality.Pat is survived by her two sons, John M. Zimmerman and his wife Genie of Englewood, Florida and Thomas H. Zimmerman and his wife Cindy of Indianapolis, Indiana. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Janet Hoban of Santa Clara, California, four grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.No funeral services are planned, however, memorial contributions can be made in her name to Cross and Crown Lutheran Church located at 79th Street and Allisonville Road in Indianapolis where she was a charter member.
