Helen Gloria HansonAnkenyHelen Gloria Hanson, 85, of Ankeny, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Taylor House.A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut Street, Ankeny, with a service to follow at 2 p.m.Helen was born on November 21, 1931, to Irwin William and Rosalee Kraus in Jefferson City, MO. She married Jerry Claude Hanson on January 5, 1985 in Des Moines. Helen retired from Communication Data Services in 1996, where she was a Travel and Planning Coordinator, a career that she thoroughly loved.Helen was an avid Iowa Cubs Fan and her and her husband, Jerry, were honored to be cubs fans of the year in 2000.Helen is preceded in death by her husband Jerry and still-born son Darrell Paul.She will be deeply missed by her daughters Sue Huff of Kansas, Deb Hall of Ankeny, and Paula (Scott) Hardin of Omaha, NE and her grandsons Casey Glenn and Jackson Wyatt.Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.Online condolences can be left at www.iowafuneralplanning.com.
