Helen F. Van PouckeNaples, FLHelen F. "Lynn" Van Poucke, age 90, a 30 year resident of Naples, Florida and former many year resident of the Dundee-Elgin, Illinois areas passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. Lynn was born on May 7, 1926 in Pleasant Plains, IL and was the daughter of the late Lester & Helen (nee' Lynd) Lehmann. On September 10, 1946 she married Raymond F. Van Poucke. Ray preceded Lynn in death on August 3, 1997 after 50 years of marriage. Lynn was a resident of the Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club Community in Naples as well as a longtime member. At Eagle Creek, she enjoyed Golf, Bocce Ball, spending time with her friends, and playing countless hours of Bridge. Lynn was a skillful Bridge player and in 2013, she earned " Life Masters Status " in Duplicate Bridge. She was a faithful member of the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Naples. Survivors include her children; Dr. Stephen (Mary) Van Poucke, DVM, and Janice (James) Spence. Other survivors include her grandchildren; Karen (Charles) Best, Michael (Rebecca) Van Poucke, Lindsay (Michael) Carson and Laurel (Anthony) Opal. Her great grandchildren; Aiden, Jacob and Emma Best, Joshua Van Poucke, Eleanor & Edda Opal and Finn Carson. In addition to her parents and husband, Lynn was preceded in death by her three brothers; Selmar, Alvin and John Lehmann. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Drive, Elgin, IL. with Rev. Richard A. Rosinski, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee, IL. The Van Poucke & Spence families will be receiving friends at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presence-St. Joseph Hospital Women's Auxiliary, 77 Airlite Street, Elgin, IL 60123.
