Helen Lorene Burt

OLATHE, Kan. — Helen Lorene Burt, 95, of Gardner, KS, formerly of Sedalia and Warsaw, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House in Olathe, KS. She was born on May 19, 1921 in Stoutland, MO the daughter of Ernest and Dolly (Begley) Manuel, who preceded her in death.

On October 12, 1938 in Gerster, MO she was united in marriage to Radford Burt, who preceded her in death on December 28, 1997.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, quilting, and gardening. She also loved traveling, going camping, watching NASCAR and going to the races.

She was survived by a son, Harold Burt and his wife Kathy of Sedalia; a daughter, Carolyn Burt of Sedalia; five grandchildren; Andy Burt (Tonya), Angela Caswell (Joe), John Harding (Alisha), James Harding (Andrea), and Lori Leicher (Daren), and seven great grandchildren.

Besides her husband Radford and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Harding; a sister and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Truman Leicher, Dylan Harding, Lincoln Burt, David Stutzman, Dwight Burt, Bobby Manuel and Leyton Burt.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
