YORK Helen B. Manspeaker, 93, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Country Meadows Leader Heights. She was the wife of the late Harold R. ("Mannie") Manspeaker and lived at 537 W. Philadelphia St. in York for many years. She especially loved her rose gardens and visiting on the porch with neighbors. Helen was born on July 16, 1922 in Stewartstown, a daughter of the late Roy N. and Etta C. (Hall) Norris. She was a life-long member of St. John U.C.C., Red Lion, starting at the age of 3 when her father was the sexton of the church. She graduated in 1940 from Red Lion High School and worked briefly as a beautician and then, after raising her family, in a printing company bindery department until her retirement. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Y. Stetter, wife of Dr. Michael Stetter of Wilmington, Del., Carol L. Harrold, wife of Jack Harrold of York; and son, Wade A. Manspeaker of Dover: six grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, and Kevin Stetter, Chad Harrold, Tricia Manspeaker and Kelly Allwein; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Norris of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Theda Hamme; and a brother, Dean Norris; as well as daughter-in-law, Vanessa Manspeaker. The viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John U.C.C.,161 N. Main St., in Red Lion. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. David Tietje officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff of Country Meadows Pathways and Grane Hospice for their kindness and care.
