Kaderabek, age 98, a former Manitowoc resident, died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Willows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sun Prairie.Helen was born on November 26, 1918 in Kiel, WI, daughter of the late Andrew and Stella (Madigan) Schnell. She graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1936. On May 28, 1946 she married Otto Kaderabek in Kiel and they then settled in Manitowoc. During WWII, Helen was employed at Mirro Aluminum and later as a school crossing guard for the city of Manitowoc. For many years she worked as a seamstress and tailor for her brother-in-law at Baldwin's Menswear until her retirement in 1974. After retirement, Helen enjoyed various sewing, crocheting and other handiwork and craft activities. She was also an accomplished cook, seamstress and homemaker. Many fun times were spent dancing and playing sheepshead with Otto and their friends and large families during retirement. In 2004, Helen moved to Sun Prairie to be near family and continued to enjoy handiwork, cards and other social activities until just recently.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Lois and Ken Saville, Madison; two granddaughters: Kathryn (Joe) Gier, Reeseville, Kristin (Scott) Wersal, Madison; five great grandchildren: Abbie, Jacob and Lucas Gier, Will and Connor Wersal; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Gladys Paulson, Grace (Ed) Mikalofsky, Louise Thiel, Walter Dudarenke; one brother and three sisters-in-law: Jim (Margie) Schnell, Pat Schnell and Ruth Steuer. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Helen was preceded in death by her husband: Otto; four brothers: Joseph, John, Kenneth and Francis; two sisters: Alice Dudarenke and Bernice Zielke; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand Ave (1416 Grand Ave), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund had been established in Helen's name.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.pfefferfuneralhome.com.The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
