Harry A. DoerflerUrbandaleHarry Doerfler, 91, passed away at Deerfield Retirement Community on November 13, 2017. He was born on January 17, 1926 in El Reno, OK. His family moved to Amarillo, TX where he graduated from high school and was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in the 106th Infantry Div., 424 Regiment WWII "Battle of the Bulge." He graduated from the University of Denver in Denver, CO. On April 19, 1952, he married Betty J. PzinskiHarry is survived by his wife: Betty; sons: George and Stephen; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam.Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church: 1627 Grand Ave., West Des Moines. Visitation will be held the night prior, from 4:30-6:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Brooks Funeral Care: 7975 University Blvd., Clive.
