In Loving Memory

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Harold Morris Behn, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Born April 3,1949 to Fred Hill Behn II and Georgia Beatrice Behn. Some men become soldiers; some men are born to be soldiers. From as far back as Harold could remember, he wanted to be a soldier. From sneaking on to the Army base with his brother Fred as kids, to joining ROTC at David Star Jordan High School in Los Angeles. Not only was Harold an excellent high school cadet, but he also excelled academically receiving a scholarship for the L.A. Times. During this time, little did Harold, the young man, know that just down the street from him lived a girl that would be by his side, for over 50 years, as a wife, best friend, and mother of his children; Loretta Ann Jones later Loretta Ann Behn.

From 1967 to 1973 Harold served in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Hospital Corpman, rendering aid to the sick and wounded. Two years were spent active duty during the Vietnam War.

1974 and 1975, Harold and Loretta experienced the joy of parenthood with the births of their children, son Quasar and daughter Hisani.

After Harold, Loretta, and the kids moved to Oklahoma in 1980, Harold spent the next 28 years serving in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and the Army Reserve; from 1981 to three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan 2004-2007 to officially retiring to 2009. Not only was he a soldier, but he was also a professional officer with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 20 years and Homeland Security for 10 years before retiring.

.

Harold was a dedicated reader of the Bible and a believer in the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was funny, smart, loving, and generous. He will be dearly missed by everyone in his life.

Harold is survived by his wife Loretta, his son Quasar and daughter-law Shelby, his daughter Hisani, his grandchildren: Aaron Behn Sr., Brennen Behn, and Dillan Behn; great-grandson Aaron Behn Jr., his father Fred Hill Behn II, his brothers: Fred Hill Behn III, Charles Nelson, Madison Behn, and Reginald Behn; his sisters: Nila Nelson, Lolita Nelson, Shelly Behn, Ellen Behn-Williams, Lydia Behn-Johnson, Nickole Behn-Rose. Harold also survived by nieces Lajuanya, Veda, Dana; and a host of family and friends whom he loved.

Harold is preceded in death by his grandmother Alice Orr, mother Georgia Beatrice Nelson, and sister Mary Behn.
