Remembering Hamid Hekmat

Hamid R. Hekmat, 63, Los Angeles, died at 12:46 a.m., Saturday, January. 18, 2019, from a long battle with lung cancer.

Hamid was born Nov. 29, 1955, in Tehran, Iran  and was a lifelong area resident of North Texas before moving to Los Angeles. He worked as a retail store manager, and was a volunteer fireman and first responder for the Allen Fire Department.

He is survived by his mother and father, Ahmad and Parvin Hekmat; one brother, Ali Hekmat; one nephew, Sean Hekmat; and two children: Kayvaan Hekmat and Haleh Cochran. Along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Dallas, Texas. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Ali Hekmat, Parvin Hekmat, Haleh Cochran, and Kayvaan Hekmat.

Friends may call at the Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
