Hafsat Shittu, age 73, a loving mother of five, passed away in the early hours of August 8th after a courageous battle with type 2 diabetes. Hafsat was born in 1950 in Lagos Nigeria where she grew up surrounded by her large family, she had 8 other siblings and a lot of aunts and uncles. She relocated to Buffalo New York and later retired in the city of Houston Texas Hafsat was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, she incorporated that into her motherhood. As a mother she was generous, loving and kind. She never told any of her 5 children off, and spoiled them as much as she possibly could. Hafsat was also a grandmother and was absolutely thrilled about her family growing even bigger. 

We know that we can't have you with us but we're happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman, a beautiful mother and a caring grandmother.  Hafsat is survived by her 5 daughters, and her grandchildren. There will be a service for those who would like to say their last goodbye to Hafsat on the 25th of August, at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston. Please wear white or bright colors as requested by Hafsat as she wants her funeral to be a celebration of her life well lived.
