Gwendolyn SmithPoughkeepsie - Gwendolyn Smith of Cavaliers St. Andrew, Jamaica passed away on March 16, 2017 peacefully at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was born on December 8, 1954 to Augustine Thompson and Zachariah Smith. Gwendolyn was a loving and caring devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Gwendolyn migrated to America in 2007, and resided in Poughkeepsie New York. She was employed at Unlimited Care, and was a devoted and dedicated care-giver who was loved by many.She survived by 2 sons, Melvin Webb and Wesley Clarke; 4 daughters, Cathrina Webb, Shereen Clarke, Annmarie Clarke, and Lisa Clarke. Gwendolyn was blessed with a large extended family and is survived by 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ms. Smith will repose 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, 43 Fairview Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. She will be returning to her homeland in St. Andrew on April 2nd 2017 where she will be lay to rest next to her mother and other relatives.
