Gralen WilsonApril 6, 1967 - October 23, 2016Westlake Village, CAGralen Devaux Eidam Wilson was born on April 6, 1967 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Gerald and Nancy Eidam. She was the oldest of two children, having a younger brother, Gar Devaux Eidam. Gralen's family moved to Santa Cruz, California when she was four months old. There she attended Westlake Elementary School, Mission Hill Junior High and Santa Cruz High School, graduating as Valedictorian in 1985. She spent two summers during her high school days in exchange programs living with families in Grenoble, France and Madrid, Spain. Gralen went on to attend UCLA where she majored in Italian and was active with Bruin Belles. She spent one semester of her junior year of college studying at the University of Padua, Italy where she thrived in the Italian culture and made lifelong friends. She graduated with honors from UCLA n 1989.Gralen had a lifelong love of traveling and was involved with Sister Cities International participating in youth exchanges with Santa Cruz's sister cities of Sestri Levante, Italy; Alushta, Crimea; Shingu, Japan; Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela.; and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. After graduating from college, Gralen spent two years working as an intern at the Sister Cities' office in Washington D.C., traveling to many different parts of the world using her language skills in Italian, French, German and even some Japanese. After moving back to Los Angeles in the early 90's she worked for AnsaldoBreda, an Italian company that provided subway cars for the LA subway system. Gralen also worked with the Protocol office of the City of Los Angeles during the Bradley administration. She rounded out her career working with Credito Italiano and then Twentieth Century Fox Studios in International Human Resources.Gralen met her husband, Kevin Wilson, in March, 1998. They were married in Santa Cruz, California on May 20, 2000. The Wilsons moved to Westlake Village in 2002, shortly after the birth of their first child. Gralen was a devoted and loving mother to their three beautiful children: Jenna (14), Caleb (12), and Fiona (10). She was involved in every aspect of her children's lives, volunteering in the classroom, on the sports field and in the theatre. She loved to entertain and threw unforgettable parties. Gralen was well known for her colorful outfits, her infectious smile and her positive attitude. She lived life to the fullest and had numerous friends from all over the world - she loved and cherished each and every one of them. Gralen passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, at her home surrounded by her loving family and numerous friends. Her death was unexpected, coming only six days after discovering that her yearlong treatment had failed and that breast cancer had spread to her lungs. She is survived by her husband Kevin and their three children, Jenna, Caleb and Fiona; her parents, Nancy and Jerry Eidam; her brother Gar (Trelawny) Eidam and their children, Morgan and Mitchell. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as countless friends. Gralen's passing is an immeasurable loss and she will be dearly missed by many.Gralen has been entrusted to Conejo Mountain Funeral Home in Camarillo, California. Donations may be made in Gralen's memory to the Breast Cancer fund for research into treatment and a cure for triple negative breast cancer.Services will be held Saturday, November 5, 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 5801 Kanan Rd., Westlake Village.
