Grace Henry Obituary

Apr 18, 1928 - Nov 23, 2021

This obituary is administered by:

Forever in Jehovah's Memory! Sweet Lady!

Mabel Grace Achenson Henry, also known as Granny, was born in Guatemala, Central America on April 18, 1928 to Madlin Achenson and Samuel Henry. Our beautiful mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother passed peacefully surrounded with love on November 23, 2021 at the age of 93.

At 27 years old , Mabel moved to Belize where she settled and raised her 6 children. While in Belize, she was a housekeeper and took care of her children. On November 18, 1989 Mabel moved to Hempstead, New York on the same day her great-grandson was born, a bond that was so strong, until the day she passed in his presence. She was devoted to taking care of and loved all her grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids.

Granny was independent for most of her life. Whenever someone would visit or call, she would always say "I'm right here- me and Jehovah!" And if you don't call her - she would definitely call you and the first thing she would say is “Oh you just throw me away” no matter how recent your last visit was with her. Mabel loved having visitors and spending time with her family and friends. She never missed a meeting, and even on her sickbed she was asking for her iPad to stay connected to her spiritual family. She also loved that she was able to stay connected to everyone through facebook. If you knew Granny, she always needed the latest technology.

Mabel was the perfect example of Faith, Hope, Courage and Love. She lived every minute of her life doing Jehovah's will. She dedicated her life to Jehovah over 54 years ago, never wavering. Her favorite scripture was Revelation 21:4 which reads "and He (Jehovah) will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, for the former things have passed away”. The love Mabel had for Jehovah and her kind spirit will forever remind us of the type of person she was.

Mabel was preceded by her sister Ina Brown Payne and her brother Alejandro Campbell, her 4 children Martha, David, Carmen and Gilbert Garcia. She left behind her daughter Gloria Robinson and son Francis Garcia. Mabel has 19 grandchildren (preceded by Shamika Garcia Gilette and Rubicella Garcia) a host of great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was blessed to create 5 generations while she was alive. They were the pride and joy of her life.

We will certainly miss you Granny. You are gone but certainly not forgotten! See you in Paradise. John 5:28.29
