NORTH ROSE - Gordon F. Phelps, age 86, passed away on Thursday (March 9, 2017) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday (March 13, 2017) at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery.Donations may be made in Gordon's memory to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, NY 14489.Gordon was born on February 19, 1931 in Detroit, Mich., a son to the late Gordon E. and Elizabeth Pirwitz Phelps. He worked as a truck driver at Anheiser Busch in Penfield for over 20 years. He previously traveled the world for the Merchant Marines for 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ellen; children Frank (Sheila) Hipp of Syracuse and Elizabeth (George) Miles of N.C.; grandchildren Aaron Hipp of Syracuse and Krystin Hipp of Marion; great-grandchildren Bryan and Alexis Hendler of Marion; brother, Dean (Denise) Phelps of N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
