Gloria B. Ungemach1927 - 2014Gloria B. Ungemach, 87, passed away on her birthday, Jan. 5, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital - St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn. Gloria was born on Jan. 5, 1927, in Kenosha, Wis., to Leonard and Regina Berg.Gloria grew up in Kenosha and she graduated from Kenosha High School in 1945. After high school she went to work at Great Lakes Navel Base. There she met Robert E. Gardner, her first husband, who was the father of Glorias two children. In 1967, she returned to Kenosha and attended the University of Wisconsin. Gloria married Elmer Ungemach in July of 1969 at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wis. They were happily married for 42 years. Gloria was an active member of her church, Resurrection Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minn. She was a member of Wisconsin Extension Homemakers, League of Women Voters. She enjoyed art, nature and reading and her dog Mitzi.Gloria is survived by her two children, Karen (Kevin) Carr of Chatfield and Robert Ungemach and his partner Keith Emmons of Dallas, Texas; her six grandchildren Trevor Carr, Brandon (Laura) Carr, Brittany Carr, Kristin (Peter) Krahn, Jessica Carr, and Jaime Carr; and other relatives.Gloria was preceded in death, by her husband Elmer on March 3, 2011, her parents, Regina and Leonard H. Berg, stepfather George Poreden and her one brother Leonard Berg.A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday Jan. 18, 2014, at the Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, MN. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in the springtime at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
