Gloria Jean "Jeannie" CouchBROWNWOOD, TXGloria Jean "Jeannie" Brownlee Couch, 77, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory Street, with burial following in Hamby Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.Jeannie was born on August 24, 1940 to Ervin C. and Minnie Pearl Brownlee (Milner) in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. She had five siblings: Evelyn, Charles, Larry, Bobbie, and Carolyn. During childhood, Jeannie and her family moved to towns around the Permian Basin and Panhandle for farm and field work, but found their home in Andrews, Texas. Jeannie graduated from Andrews High School and remained a resident until moving to Abilene to attend Hardin-Simmons University. There she obtained a degree in teaching in 1970, and found her new home in Abilene. A few years later, Jeannie met Alvin ("Sonny") Couch, Jr. and they were wed July 19, 1974. On that day, Jeannie not only gained the love of her life, but also gave her heart to his children as her own: Tammy, Cindy, Randy, and Melissa. Later, Jeannie and Sonny together welcomed Robby and Christy into the family. Jeannie was further blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gloria Jean Couch was preceded in death by Sonny Couch, Tammy Huskin and husband Carl, sisters Evelyn Stanton and Bobbie Burnett, brothers Charles and Larry Brownlee, and both parents. She is survived by Robby Couch and Christy Couch of May, Cynthia Edwards and Randy Couch of Abilene, and Melissa Couch of Brownwood; sister Carolyn White of Waco, sisters-in-law Carleta Lindeman of Ohio, Kim Dvorak of Lubbock, and Pansy Mayes of Snyder; grandchildren Kaitlyn Gipson, Patricia Bagwell, Samantha Patterson, Allen Huskin, Colton Couch, all of Abilene, Jacklin Bagwell of Harlingen, Ashley Ledbetter of Missouri, Tim Snyder, Meagan Couch, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
