Gloria J. Snell, age 76, of West Third Street in Corning, NY went to be with her loving Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Gloria was born on September 6, 1940 in Corning to Louis and Matilda (Maio) Miraglia. She married Gordon Snell on January 23, 1960 at St. Mary's Church in Corning. She loved children and worked with autistic children and had been an at home day care provider for many years. Gloria enjoyed singing, square dancing, bowling, and playing cards, but, her greatest love was her family and the holidays. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's choir and was a member of the secular order of the Franciscans. Her survivors include her husband Gordon; four daughters, Brenda Symes of Caton, Theresa (Daniel) West of Caton, Jennifer Snell of Corning, and Erin (Aaron) Burgess of Corning; one son, Charles Snell of Corning; brother, Louis (Wanda) Miraglia of Bath; grandchildren, Angela, Jayson, Toby, Brett, Brandi, Haley, Allison, Emily, Ethan, and Evan; great grandchildren, Alecia, Kaylee, Isaiah, Luca, and Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gordon in 1997. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 4th from 4 - 6 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 5th at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning with Father John Forni officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Gloria's name to Catholic Charities, www.catholiccharitiessteuben.org.
