- Gloria J. Burman, age 73, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Janesville, WI due to complications from pneumonia. She was born on July 21, 1940, daughter of the late Holger and Evelyn (Hansen) Rasmussen. Gloria was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1958” in Racine, WI. She then met the love or her life and was united in marrige to Thomas R. Burman on July 30, 1960 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Gloria was employed for several years at Western Publishing and held several other various jobs until becoming a full-time homemaker. She resided in Racine until 1972 and then relocated to Janesville WI, Illinois and Colorado, prior to returning to Wisconsin in 1993 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Gloria was an excellent baker and enjoyed scrapbooking, decorating and dancing. She will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-three years, Tom; her children, Sue (Don) Gundersen of De Forest, WI, Sherrie (Russell) Mixon of Lakeland, FL, Tim (Tracy) Burman of Janesville, CMSgt Tom (Tanya) Burman U.S.A.F. of Belleville, IL; seven grandchildren, Adam, Nick, Russell II, Dane, Peyton, Bailey, and Kamdyn; four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Brooklyn, Jordyn, Devon; brother, James (Charlie) Rasmussen of Racine; sister, Judy (Chuck) Niesen of Racine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delmar (Alice) Burman of Racine; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013, 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Ballew of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M until the time of service at 12:00 P.M.
