It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Tolbert, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Gloria was born on July 12, 1949 in Washington City, District of Columbia to Raymond E. Mercer and Elizabeth P. Bryan. She married Rufus J. Tolbert in the year 20 and together they raised two wonderful children, Sabrina Tolbert-Wright (spouse Nathanowl Wright) and Tarsha Tolbert.

Gloria had a vibrant personality and a sharp wit that could always bring a smile to those around her. She had a passion for fixing gadgets, watching football, and collecting various items that brought her joy.

She studied at Eastern High School and later went on to work at the United States Supreme Court, where she made a lasting impact on all those she encountered.

Gloria leaves behind her loving family, including five adoring grandchildren, who will always cherish the memories they shared with her. She passed away on January 1, 2025 from natural causes.

Although we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible life that Gloria lived. She will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
