ROCKPORT – Glenda L. Cecil, 75, passed away at her residence on Nov. 29, 2016, with her family by her side.Glenda was born on February 4, 1941 in Irvine, Ky., to the late Willie and Flora Barrett.Glenda was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, she worked as the Manager in the kitchen of The Pantry that was in Rockport for many years, she also worked at the Executive Inn in Owensboro, Doris Drive-In, and Topers and Irving Restaurant. Glenda loved her grandkids more than anything; she loved country music, and was an avid angel collector.Glenda is preceded in death by her husband; Richard A. Cecil in 2014, her parents, one son; Richard G. Cecil, daughter-in-law; Patrice A. Cecil, two brothers: Edward Barrett and Wayne Barrett, two sisters: Mary Francis Bates and Bertha Cummings.Glenda is survived by her one daughter, Marsha Cecil of Tell City; two sons, Kevin (Jade) Cecil of Rockport, Brian (Kim) Cecil of Grandview; one sister, Della Mae Brauning of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, William (Myrlene) Barrett of Del Valle, Texas, J.D. Barrett of New Port, Va.; four grandchildren, Keith Cecil, Kasey Cecil, Brian Thomas Cecil, Aaron Cecil and several great grandchildren.Services were Friday Dec. 2, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Ron Kreilein officiating Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to COPD or Dementia or St. Jude Hospital.Friends unable to attend may send a condolence to the family at www.boultinghousefuneralhome.com
