Glenda Carroll Gonzales (nee Ross), 83, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed on July 23, 2021. Glenda was born on September 16, 1937 in Oakland City, IN to Anvelee Ross and Mable (King) Ross. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse R Gonzales and beloved sons James P Hemphill Jr and Tommy G Hemphill - she is survived by son Jeffery (Debbie) Hemphill of Merrillville, IN.. daughters Doris (Ed) Ofiara of Urbandale, IA and Jennifer Gonzales of East Chicago, IN, 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and siblings - Doris Copeland of Lafayette, IN, Jim (Joanna) Ross of Gary, IN, Alan Ross of Alabama, Sherry Olsen of Merrillville, IN, Steve (Carol) Ross of Gary, IN and Joe Ross of Culver, IN.

Glenda was a very talented artist and loved to cook and sew. She also was an animal lover who would often shelter and feed stray cats and dogs in her North Indianapolis neighborhood. Her move to Merrillville was attributed to failing health and desire to be near her children. She spent her last days in the Towne Center Assisted Living Facility. The family will be forever grateful to the nursing staff in the Memory Care Unit for the kindness, compassion and love they showed Glenda throughout her stay and especially in her final hours.

While losing her hurts our hearts right now, we take comfort in knowing she was greeted in heaven by her Mom, Dad, Tooter, Tommy, Jesse and our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

She is very loved...and will be very missed.
