LAURINBURG — Mrs. Gladys Wren Causey passed away at the age of 95 on Nov. 4, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6 at the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Lamar Smith. A private burial will be at 2 p.m. in Richmond Memorial Park.

Gladys was born on March 6, 1918 in Andrews, S.C., daughter of the late Sidney A. Wren, Sr., and Alaphaire Diliia Rabon Wren. She was the devoted wife to the late Henry M. Causey, Sr. She retired after many years of service with the Scotland County school system. She was longtime member of the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church where she served as a youth leader. Before her illness, she enjoyed knitting and sewing. Mrs. Causey was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother that will truly me missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings Sidney A. Wren, Jr., Mildred Williams, and Margie Long.

She is survived by her sons Henry M. Causey and wife Barbara of Laurinburg and Sidney "Adren" Causey and wife Joyce of Myrtle Beach, S.C., four grandchildren: Tammy Causey LaBonne, Sydney "Chip" Causey, Chris Causey, and Rhonda Chavis, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church.
