It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilberto Santana on June 6, 2023. He was born on October 2, 1966, in Regla, Cuba. Gilberto was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Gilberto was a hardworking man who devoted his life to his family, friends, and community. He was a devoted and a loving father to his two children, Diana and Roger. Gilberto was also a dedicated brother to his siblings, Roger, Aime, and Aileen, and a loyal friend to many.

Gilberto will be remembered for his infectious smile, his kind and humble demeanor, and his unwavering faith and love for God. He was an active member of his Abakuá Religion where he served as a volunteer and mentor to many others.

His passing leaves a huge void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to have known him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A funeral service to honor Gilberto's life and legacy will be held on June 9th, 2023, at the Caballero Rivero Woodlawn in Kendall, Florida. Per Gilberto’s last wishes he will be cremated and brought back to his home land in Regla Cuba.
