Gilbert Roy Malinowski, age 86 of Oscoda passed away on Sept. 29, 2016. He was born on July 7, 1930 in Detroit to the late Thomas and Macedonia Malinowski. Gilbert married his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Mathieson, on May 3, 1952 in Port Huron.He worked as an electrician for General Motors for 28 years. Gilbert loved to hunt, fish, garden, play pool and horseshoes, spend time raising his dogs, and most of all spending time with his family.In addition to his wonderful wife, Mary Lou, he is survived by his children, Michael (Lita) Malinowski of Fenton, Douglas (Susie) Malinowski of Cape Coral, Fla., David (Susan) Malinowski of Fenton, Don Malinowski of Flint, and only daughter, Michelle (Bradley) Malinowski-Fleenor, of Lakeland; grandchildren, Kristina, Adam, Scott, Matt, Kim, Nikki, Eric and Lisa; and great grandchild, Merrick.In addition to his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by a brother and sisters.A luncheon is planned for Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. in Lakeland.
