YORK Gertrude M. Wertz, 87, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Wertz. Gertrude was born on August 6, 1928, in York, the daughter of the late John F. and Gertrude (Jamison) Bruggeman. She retired from Dentsply as a carder. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Dentsply Girls Club. She was a 1946 graduate of York Catholic High School. She enjoyed traveling and slot machines. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015, at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, with the Rev. Jonathan Sawicki officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Gertrude is survived by four children, Bobbie Lee Lyons, Arthur C. Wertz and wife, Susan, Norman R. Wertz and wife, Vickie, and Mary C. Wertz Tyler; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was the last surviving of seven children.
