Geraldine Opperman, 72Muncie - Geraldine Katherine Opperman, age 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 14, 2017 in Muskegon, MI.She was born on November 19, 1944 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of Jerry and Hazel (Kinney) Rosinski. Gerri had an unwavering faith in God and was a former member of Yorktown Christian Church. Gerri was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed hosting gatherings for her family and friends, shopping, and ice cream.She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Joyce Mitchell, and Mary Haley. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children Melissa (Kevin) Reid, Rebecca (Michael) Johnson, Christopher Opperman and eight grandchildren, Sierra and Connor Reid, Rachel and Emily Schoff, Caitlin and Allison Johnson, and Johnathan and Savannah Strickland.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who loved and cared for Gerri throughout the many years of her life.Memorials in honor of Gerri may be directed to West Michigan Therapy Dogs, Inc., a service that brought her much comfort and joy. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210.
