Geraldine F. Gilbride 1947 - 2016UTICA - Geraldine F. Gilbride, 69, of Utica, died on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at her home.She was born on December 2, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Gerard and Rena Veripapa Leitch. She married John Gilbride on June 23, 1975, in Kirkland.She loved and cherished the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Yankees fan and always looked forward to attending the Great American Irish Festival.She is survived by her loving husband, John (Jack) Gilbride, of Utica; children, Karl Neilson, of Utica, Kristine Neilson, of Marcy, Jaclyn Durrigan and husband, Kevin, of Utica, James Gilbride and wife, Tiffany, of Utica; and stepdaughter, Kimberly Menzak and husband, John, of Phillipsburg, NJ; grandchildren, Brittany, Michelle, Jack, Andi, Jimmy, Brooklyn and Ethan; sisters, Linda Sampson and husband, Charles, of FL, and Judy Imbriale and husband, Joseph, of Staten Island; sister-in-law, Eileen Duffy and husband, Joe; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Debra Berntsen.The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff at Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Cheryl, Crystal and Georgia, and Deacon Paul Salamy, for all the compassionate care and comfort given to Geraldine.The funeral will be on Sunday, at 4:00, at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
