Olson, Gerald "Jerry"Gerald "Jerry" Olson, 81, was called to his eternal resting place on June 28, 2017. Jerry was born on February 21, 1936, in Duluth Minnesota. He graduated from Duluth Central High School and attended the University of Minnesota Duluth.Jerry married the former Marianne Barto on August 27, 1960, in Hurley, Wisconsin. His lifelong career in the grocery industry took him from Duluth to Sheboygan Wisconsin, back to Duluth, eventually ending up in Green Bay where he retired as a buyer from Super Valu Stores. As a hockey player, he competed in the Minnesota High School State Tournament and collegiately for UMD. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed attending Packer games, playing golf and watching any sort of sports on TV. He also enjoyed their annual trips to New Smyrna Beach, Florida for the past 20 years.Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Marianne, sons, Gary, Denver, CO; Todd (Joan), and daughter, Lori (Bryon) Jankowski, grandchildren, Kasey, Haley and Jake Jankowski, all of Green Bay. He is further survived by his brother, Thomas (Chris) Olson, Oro Valley, AZ; sister, Karen (Jim) Sohlstrom, Duluth, MN; and in laws, John (Sharon) Barto, Hartland, WI; Joanne (Ken) Docteur, Duluth, MN; nieces, nephews, and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy Olson; in laws, John and Jean Barto; and nephew, Jeff Nelson.Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 6, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2771 Oakwood Drive beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a service at 5:30 p.m. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
