FREMONT — Georgie C. Johnson, age 102, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Lakeland Nursing Center, Angola, Indiana. She was born on February 11, 1912, in Eaton, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph A. and Mary E. (Black) Younts. She married Kenneth C. Johnson on May 9, 1936, in Muncie, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1997. Georgie graduated from Pennville High School. She worked for Sears & Roebuck in Muncie, Indiana. She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge in Angola, Indiana, and was a 50-year member of Eastern Star in Fort Wayne. She loved bird watching. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joe (Peggy) Johnson of Fremont, Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam (Earl Ford) McNaughton of Fremont, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Lori (Rick) Hurst of Borden, Indiana, Lisa (Steve) Van Ella of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Elizabeth (Chase) Sprague of Pasadena, California, Christine (Erik) Kolbow of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Foy McNaughton of Fremont, Indiana, Alex (Courtney) McNaughton of Iowa City, Iowa, and Joseph (Darcy) McNaughton of Tucson, Arizona; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Johnson; her parents, Ralph and Mary Younts; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; a sister; and two brothers. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, April 18, 2014, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with the Rev. Darin C. Hendrey officiating.
