Georgette Plourde, 87, of Plainville passed away on November 13, 2016 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the loving wife of Gilbert Plourde for 69 years. Georgette was born on October 23, 1929 in Madawaska, Maine, daughter to the late Albert and Alice (Cyr) Pelletier. She was a resident of Plainville for many years and a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She enjoyed playing cards and reading, but above all loved spending time with her family who were all very important to her. In addition to her husband, Gilbert, Georgette is survived by her son, Gilman Plourde and his wife, Linda; her daughter, Maxine Zdunek; her daughter, Joan Green and her husband Larry; her siblings, Bertrand Pelletier, Joe Pelletier and his wife, Diane, Blanche Pelletier, Lorraine Raymond and her husband, Albert, Marcy Potvin, Thelma Thibideau, Rolande Pelletier and her husband, Anthime, and Jeanne Pelletier and her husband, Adrian. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Abel Pelletier, Noel Pelletier, Aurore Sirois, Berniece (Dufour) Pelletier, and Germaine Pelletier. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 16 from 5 to 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, November 17 at 9 AM from Bailey Funeral Home for A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Georgette can be made to the , 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
