George M. Schlitz1943 - 2013George M. Schlitz, 69, of Pleasant Prairie died Wednesday Aug. 14, 2013, at Hospice House. He was born on Nov. 22, 1943, in Kenosha, the son of the late Earl and Lillian (Robbins) Schlitz. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School.He married Gloria (Sinkler) Chandler on July 2, 1970, in Waukegan, Ill. He served in the U.S. Marines form 1960-1965.He worked as a cook at Big Star and Cracker Barrel. His hobbies were bowling, fishing, golf, gambling,watching the Miami Dolphins, and enjoyed his family especially the grand babies. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Schlitz, of Pleasant Prairie; three children, Taja Chandler (Dan) Creamer, of Kenosha, Lawona (Jesse) Dewey of Kenosha, and George Schlitz of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers Joseph LaFayette and Bobby Besch; two sisters, LaVina Haddock and Laverne Borger; nine grandchildren Megan (Theo) Sturycz, Matthew (Andy) Conner, Mitchell (Ashley) Conner, Melissa Chandler, Katherine (Cody) Robinson, Corbit (Amanda) Wallace Sinthya Dewey, Elizabeth Schlitz and Jade Jorgenson; and five great grandchildren Zoe Conner, Aubree Chandler, Jacob Robinson, Amberlin & Lakann Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby son, George Schlitz Jr., a granddaughter, Amber Wallace, two brothers, John and Earl Schlitz, two sisters, Johanna Kushman and Dorothy Howard, father-in-law Glen Sinkler, brother-in-laws, Bruce and Robert Sinkler. Visitation will be Tuesday Aug. 20, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services and on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 from 10 -11 a.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:15 a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials for the family would be appreciated. A special thank you to Hospice House for the care given to our father and husband & Aurora I.C.U. Unit.
